October 14th – Today we took the children to Hanover Court, a local sheltered accommodation home, to celebrate Harvest Festival with the residents.
The children took part in a lovely service by the Reverend and were invited to make some bookmarks and flying birds. The flowers you can see in the picture unfolded as the children placed them in the water. Huge Thanks to the residents for making the children feel so welcome.
November 10th – Today the children have been making good use of our sensory room. We use a variety of objects and sounds to challenge their senses and we spend our time feeling, listening, talking and playing with all the different objects. We open the room up to all the ages end encourage the children to explore their senses in a safe and controlled environment.
November 24th – Today the Babies have been painting with bottles, the Toddlers have been making hedgehog bread and the Preschoolers have created this amazing dinosaur world with mud, leaves and grass. What a busy day!
A summary of all the news and events at Monkey Puzzle Bedford in September
29th September – Well Autumn is definitely here! We took a wander over to the park to collect some beautiful leaves. We talked about the seasons and looked at all the wonderful colours we see in Autumn.
Sptember 30th – Today we had a visit from the amazing Zoo Lab. Go to our Facebook page to see all the photos as there are too many good ones to post on here. The Children were fearless and we are so proud of how they interacted with the mini beasts. Huge thank you to Zoolab Early Years for showing us all your wonderful animals.
June 15th – Pre- school have got 3 new baby guinea pigs. The children are so exctied and have been very good and careful when holding them. If you haven’t met them yet then feel free to come and see them.
July 8th – All the children and staff at Monkey Puzzle took part in the Toddle Waddle for the Barnardo’s Charity. Our children enjoyed walking, running, piggy back races and crawling across the field. We are raising lots of money for a great charity so thank you to all and well done children!
July 8th – A big thank you to In2Beats for helping support a fundraising event close to our hearts for a special family.
Along with with Je-Anne Saunders, friends and family we are trying to raise money for the oncology ward at Bedford Hospital. We are all trying to get the brave children to the zoo for a special day with the animals. There is also a charity event being held in Lia’s and Je-anne’s honour where there will be a raffle, auction, live bands and a hot buffet. The night it self will bring plenty of laughter.
May 19th – With all the rain we’ve had, we thought the babies would have some fun playing inside the gazebo indoors!
May 20th – Today we taught the Pre school children how to create bubble art. We had so much fun blowing bubbles in the paint and creating beautiful art work.
June 2nd – It’s Healthy Eating Week and to celebrate, we have been doing lots of fun activities. Colouring in pictures of fruit and veg, and choosing our own food to stick onto dinner plates. Our babies have also been showing us their physical development – health and self care – showing how they can feed themselves with a spoon or by feeding self with finger foods – what clever babies!
June 2nd – In pre-school we made a dinosaur land. We used oats, shredded paper, pots and felt. The children had great fun exploring the different textures and making homes for the dinosaurs. They started making food and cakes for the dinosuars too.
April 6th – To make the most of this warm weather we took some of our babies to Bedford park for some fun in the sun.
April 7th – We visited the elderly at Hanover Court for a wonderful Easter service. Thank you for letting us come to visit you. The children made Palm Sunday Easter Crosses and we all learnt about the Easter story.
April 17th – Pre-school have planted some seeds in our vegetable garden and have been watering them daily. We look at them daily to see how high they have grown.
