A round up of what’s been happening at Monkey Puzzle Bedford…
Pet Month
Thank you for David for letting us look after his corn snake. Freddie brought in his African snail Flash for us to feed and look after.
Weather
We’ve been learning about the different weather conditions and listening to the sound of the rain drops from underneath our umbrella.
Fairy & Elf doors
We’ve been making fairy and elf doors. We practised some pencil control by using a stencil to draw the fairy door ourselves and then used scissors carefully to cut it out. Some of us needed a little help. We then used lolly sticks for the door, paint and lots of glitter – we love glitter! We then decorated them with jewels and stickers.
Maths
We have enjoyed using some new maths resources. We had to find and count the objects in the picture and use the blue counters to represent the number of objects. The children enjoyed picking the different scenes and finding the different objects.
Water Play & Glitter
We had a morning full of glitter, shaving foam and water play. Washing and drying babies, cars and garage, construction with magnetic shapes and making wiggly worms out of peppermint play dough.
Toddlers Theme
As part of toddlers theme this month, we are reading and exploring 4 different stories. The first story we are reading about is Handa surprise. As we read the story we also enjoyed looking at and exploring the tastes of all the fruits in the book. We had, Pomegranate, Mango, Pineapple, Oranges, Avocado, Banana and Peach. We weren’t too keen on Avocado, but our favourite was definitely the banana.
Teddy Bear Picnic
The toddlers had a teddy bears picnic in the explorers garden. They each bought in their favourite cuddly toys from home, we read ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’, and the children explored through the cave.
